My first step on the journey towards successful completion of my Distant Stitch Foundation Module! The topic is stone walls and purely by chance (serendipity!) my friend's husband had given me this beautiful model of a dry stone wall - actually made from pieces of Yorkshire stone, just the day before I signed up for the course. That's really not as weird as it might sound - I'd admired a similar model at my friend's house, he'd decided to try his hand at making one and, because I'd raved about it so much, he obviously thought (quite rightly) that I was a suitable recipient for his efforts. It's way too small to make a rubbing of for the module but I had to include a photograph of it to mark the beginning of my journey.
